Due to the economy, many companies have cut their employee rewards and recognition programs. But a sincere, authentic gesture of thanks can go beyond the surface to let those you work with know that they are a vital part of the organization and are truly appreciated.
Here are some ways to say “thanks” for free:
Invest in your employees’ dreams: Do you know your employees’ personal goals? Experts say that, as a leader or manager, you should know and help if you can. If you have an employee who wants to become a homeowner but doesn’t know where to start and you have a friend in real estate, connect them.
Transfer an Executive “Perk:” Businesses often have perks extended to their executive staff. If your business gives out benefits like complementary car washes, coupons or restaurant gift certificates, raffle off an opportunity to share this with your staff.
Create a Mentor Connection: Relationships are the currency of business. Giving an employee the opportunity to shadow or be mentored by someone she admires will help her improve her career.
