1. Have a positive mindset.
No matter how rough 2020 was, it’s time to put all of the bad things that happened in the past away, be positive and focus on the future.
Tell yourself it’s going to be a good year and don’t let negativity get into your head (especially from friends and loved ones!). It also helps if you journal exactly what you want in life so you can focus on what really matters. You may be surprised at the results!
2. Control your schedule.
Time gets away from all of us. To take more control of your schedule, create a habit of writing down the top three things that need to be accomplished on a specific day.
You can jot these down the night before or first thing in the morning before you start your day. And note that the priorities for your business should revolve around activities that bring in revenue and build customer relationships.
3. Look at where you waste time and get help.
If you work in your business more than on it, or waste time balancing your finances, updating databases, answering phones, and doing administrative tasks other people can do for you, look at hiring an intern, freelancer, part-time employee, or someone else to help you. Focus on your core responsibilities and what you want to do!
4. Pursue free publicity.
If you have a non-existent budget for advertising, get to know the media members who talk about your industry. Contact them, introduce yourself and offer valuable information. After all, a single story in the local paper can build incredible word-of-mouth and third-party credibility without costing you a cent!
5. Partner with others.
It’s a good idea to form a support group of people who can help you move forward with your business goals. You can help each other succeed faster, and by sharing efforts on marketing, customer lists, special promotions, and more, you cut the cost of everything in half and double your resources!
