a. Take care of yourself first. (Stress is real.) You can’t be 100% for others if you’re sick or if you haven’t taken time for yourself.
b. What matters to you today may not matter in 15-20 years. Re-evaluate OFTEN.
Saying no to people.
Giving myself grace. Reminding myself that You can do it all! You can have it all but not all at the same time. Know what tradeoffs you’re willing to make.

Kanyatta is an accomplished corporate leader, having worked in technology and operations throughout her career. In her current role as Vice President of Operational Excellence, she is responsible for leading the Strategy, Governance, Risk, and Compliance for Cisco IT.
Prior to joining Cisco, Kanyatta led IT Transformation, Technology, and Operations at ADP. Kanyatta also directed program management at Amdocs, Inc., after spending more than 12 years at Accenture.
Passionate about mentoring young STEM-focused women in their professional development, Kanyatta serves on the Advisory Board of Directors for Women In Technology, an Atlanta-based non-profit that champions women in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) from the classroom to the boardroom.
In addition, she also serves on the Advisory Council for the Executive Women of Goizueta, an alumni affinity group at Emory University. She earned an MBA from Emory’s Goizueta School of Business and also holds a BS in Software Engineering Technology from the University of Southern Mississippi. Kanyatta lives in Johns Creek with her husband and daughter. When not spending time with family and friends, she enjoys traveling and exploring new places.
