About Face: Introducing Dr. Mark M. Beaty

As professional women, we build impressive portfolios and prove our value as assets. What else is needed to land partnerships and career opportunities? Dr. Mark M. Beaty, owner of Beaty Facial Plastic Surgery, says that we shouldn’t overlook the role looks have in helping us close deals. In a perfect world, we would be judged solely by our work. Unfortunately, we don’t live in a perfect world. According to Dr. Beaty, “studies show that relative attractiveness is correlated with how a person is perceived in terms of competence, trustworthiness and likelihood of success.” He says professionals both female and male benefit from appearing, “healthy, vital and confident.” Dr. Beaty provides people with these tools in hopes of making them more attractive to potential partners and employers. Dr. Beaty is a double-certified surgeon specializing in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face and neck, non-surgical face and body contouring and wellness medicine, including skin care. He founded Beaty Facial Plastic Surgery in 2011 to continue his mission of “positively impacting his patients’ careers through creative and surgical expertise.”

Dr. Beaty was first drawn to plastic surgery because of its creative and technical nature. He says aesthetic surgery is one of “the few remaining areas where creativity, technical expertise and science all blend together” to benefit patients. This month, he is traveling to Beijing and Shanghai in part of the launch of CoolSculpting technology in China. Although he is a heavily sought after speaker, featured in more than three conferences in October alone, Dr. Beaty still makes time for clients of varying backgrounds including entertainers and professional athletes. Over the course of his medical career, Dr. Beaty finds that the most difficult cases are due to the negligence or inexperience of previous surgeons. In addition to providing women with the confidence necessary for a successful career, his practice offers flexible procedure scheduling to accommodate the busy lives of professional women.

After a long day of reconstructing noses and erasing wrinkles, Dr. Beaty enjoys playing the guitar, skiing on snowy slopes, and spending time with his family and friends. Dr. Beaty says he’s happiest when doing something “that also improves someone else’s life.”
