How to Boost Sales with Content Strategy and Small Business Public Relations

Use Content Strategy and PR to boost sales and online awareness fast and cost-effectively

Recently, I was fortunate enough to be interviewed on “Black Hollywood Live’s Phenomenal Women.” I had a great time during the interview, and the host and I discussed “How to Build Buzz.” With this in mind, I thought I’d share some tips with you on how you can boost sales and “buzz” with potential clients, the media and more… without spending a lot of money.

3 Tips to Boost Sales and Awareness with Public Relations and Content Strategy

1. Offer Unique Benefits.

Whether you are pitching media members, potential customers, sponsors, investors, or someone else, think about what sets you apart from the competition.

What benefits can you offer that particular person that no one else can?

Once you have your answer, you’ll be able to stand out from the crowd and provide unique value to your target market.

2. Provide News.

What’s going on at your business other people will actually care about? And I’m not talking about a sales event, investor meeting or some other, ho hum event!

If you want to be newsworthy and build buzz with media members, you’ve got to dig deep into your organization. Interview your team members and find out who they are and what they do. Perhaps, they served in the military, help out a unique charity, do some kind of interesting activity outside of work, and/or have experience in another, interesting field.

People want to hear about human interest stories. If you interview your team members, you will probably uncover unique information others will want to hear about and share with others!

3. Solve Problems.

Is your content all about the great products and services you sell? Guess what? If you aren’t telling your target market “what’s in it for them,” THEY DON’T CARE!

If you want to increase customer word-of-mouth, review all of your content. Let your target market know how you can solve their problems quickly, easily and cost-effectively. Get to the point and provide value and interesting, current data.

Boost Sales with Newsworthy Content!

If you want to increase sales for your business, take a look at your public relations and content strategy activities. Provide unique and current information specifically for your target market. Offer solutions and benefits rather than sales language and features.

People will appreciate the information and want to tell others about what you have to offer!

How are you going to use small business public relations and content strategy to boost sales today?
