Creating New Blog Entries

Title – This what will appear in the browser title bar, as well as on the page as the heading. Please, try to use ‘Entry Title Case’ for your titles except for words like (and, for, of, etc.)

Body – This is where you will cut and paste the blog copy. Each paragraph will have to be defined by using html tags. To do this, switch to plain text editor. This link is found directly below the ‘Body’ content frame. Open each paragraph with the tag

then close it with

at the end of the paragraph.

Here is an example:

I am a sentence inside a paragraph. Hey, look at me! I am another sentence inside of a paragraph.

Hi everyone, it’s nice to meet you! I am new sentences in another paragraph. Me too!

Make sure that there are no extra spaces and proof read everything as you post, because a variety of things can happen when you copy and paste! In fact, it is helpful to paste your text into a text editor, select it all and set it to default (no style), in order to strip its formatting. That way it won’t bring in extra styling. This way everything will stay consistent. If there is a bullet pointed list, at the begining of the list open a new paragraph

and after each line, code a break using the tag and only at the end of the list close the paragraph with

. Please use true bullet points (•) instead of asterisk (*).

To insert a hyperlink look to the icons at the top of the ‘Body’ content frame, click on the earth with a link in front of it. Copy your url and click ‘OK’ – and you have done it!

At the end of each blog the Author’s name should be coded as follows:

By Author X
