Why Do You Need Content That Sells, Anyway?

Give your target market valuable content on a regular basis.

You hear about how important it is to provide fresh, new content to your target audience on a daily basis.

And while you may ignore this tip, or put it in your “To Do” box, there is a reason for all the buzz.

For example, a few years ago, I wrote an article for Diesel Progress about the latest technology in retrofits. One of my clients was featured in the article. And rather than discuss the sales aspects of their products, I discussed all of the timely benefits.

Someone read the article, and tore it out of the magazine. Then, they walked into a distributor’s office, pointed to the article, and said, “We want this.” Boom! $94,000 in sales for my client.

2. Stand out with unique information.

The content that comes out of your business is unique. It has a specific style and tone and is backed by a certain level of expertise and experience.

If you write content, or have a ghostwriter write it for you, you provide something that your competitors can’t touch.

Done correctly, it can spotlight all of the unique benefits your business has to offer customers.

When you write content that is unique to your business and focuses on the desires of your customers, you build trust.

And according to research quoted in AdWeek, “63 percent of users surveyed would buy from an authentic brand over a brand that isn’t perceived as honest.”

4. Boost search rankings.

Today, search engines look for valuable content relative to a particular topic. If your website provides a lot of unique content that provides value and focuses on a specific niche, you will see your site rankings increase.

And while you may ignore all of the search engine optimization (SEO) news thinking it’s too technical and time-consuming, think again.

Just by posting unique content that is written well, you can show up at the top of the search rankings.

This means that when potential customers look for your type of products and services online, it will be more likely that you’ll be one of the first businesses they contact for more information.

5. Create valuable relationships.

 When you provide unique and valuable content to people and help them solve problems, they will be more likely to listen to what you have to say.

More important, they will share your content with others.

With regular blogs, articles, white papers, case studies, newsletters, emails, and more, you can build a fan base of customers who will promote your products and services for you.

This will save you time and money. Plus, you’ll have a long list of growing and loyal customers who will help your business grow fast.
