The fall can be such a rewarding time of the year for retailers. There are the back to school shoppers ready to express their unique styles to a new group of friends. Parents are back to a routine schedule and once the month of September hits, consumers are usually paying attention to your marketing campaigns again, if they’re good ones of course.
In today’s saturated marketing of cyber space emails, text messages, social media posts, and mounds of junk mail, it’s hard to stand out and create buzz. But it is possible! For those of you with a brick and mortar retail storefront, here are five quick and easy tips to help you create buzz and increase your foot traffic.
The secret is simple. Create a WOW factor. Sounds easy but what if you aren’t creative or don’t wake up with millions of ideas a day like some of us? Well here are 5 easy tips to consider. Just think of the 5 senses.
DAY 1: See
The first thing everyone sees is your window. Your window displays are either a wow or a yawn, nothing really in between. To create a wow factor consider mixing two to three-color blocks that the everyday consumer would not think to pair up. It’s very eye catching because it will be something outside the norm. Try layering 5 belts around the waist of a mannequin instead of just one and think about layers of different length necklaces. Bling, Black and White with a POP, and shiny objects always add a nice touch.
5 Things to Remember That Help Ensure a “Wow” Factor
1. Most people would not wear it exactly the way it’s shown.
2. You have more than three colors shown.
3. You have included at least 3 years of garment.
4. It would be hard for the person who loves the window to choose just one item.
5. If you walk at least 20 feet away, it still grabs your attention.
