Good Mood Food

We’ve all been there. Between meetings, handling employee crisis and closing deals, it’s hard to squeeze in a decent meal – so we reach for the coffee or junk food. However, eating poorly throughout the day can affect how we handle situations and deal with clients.

“Many women fail to realize that there is a connection between what they eat and their mood,” says Elizabeth Somer, author of Eat Your Way to Happiness, tells PINK. “The foods they choose throughout the day can be a benefit or detriment to mood and energy levels. The saying is true: You are what you eat!”

Ready for a boost?

Multi-grain cereal, fish, egg yolks, fruits and veggies can improve your mood and increase your energy, says Yahoo! Health.

Incorporate Omega-3s, Folic acid and vitamins D and B-12 into your diet. Here’s some delicious food that contains those essential nutrients, including whole-grain cereal, fortified eggs and wild salmon.

Wondering what to avoid? MSN Health lists the top 10 mood crushers, from pasta and cold cuts to packaged fruit snacks.

Bonus PINK Link: Food is essential for good memory as well. Here are nine ways to stay sharp.
