Are you guilty of these 5 content errors?

Fix these simple mistakes before they send sales to the competition

You worked hard to create the content on your Website, newsletter and blogs.

You post the copy and wait for the results to come in.

Well, you may be waiting a long time if you are unaware of…

The Top 5 Content Errors That Kill Sales

  1. Misspellings

This may seem like a no-brainer, but it can give a bad, first-impression. After all, if you don’t take the time to proofread your content for errors, and let it go live as-is, are you going to do that with potential clients, too?

In some industries (especially those where attention-to-detail is a top priority), misspellings are a big no-no.

  1. Bad Grammar

Your content needs to reflect the style and tone of your business. If your copy contains grammatical errors, you ruin the “brand image” you are trying to create.

Take the time to review your content, and if you’re not sure about your writing, check out the current edition of The Associated Press Stylebook or check with an experienced, SEO copywriter.

  1. Limited Value

I see this all the time. Inexperienced copywriters crank out a few paragraphs, send it to their client and request payment. Then, the client contacts me wondering why their content isn’t working.

When you write content for your business, it needs to have a strategy and goal behind it. What are you trying to accomplish?

If your content consists of a few sentences about how great your business is without providing real value to potential customers and the search engines, you waste time and money.

  1. No Call-to-Action

After people read your content, what do you want them to do? At the end of your copy, include a call-to-action. It can be a link to a landing page, a phone number, a newsletter-registration form, and more. This will help you track the results of your content, too.

  1. Not User-Friendly

Do you include a way for your readers to easily share your content via social-media? Is your contact information easy to find and access?

Once people view your content, make it simple for them to share it with others and contact you for more information. If not, you lose out on potential, word-of-mouth marketing and sales leads.
