It’s already November. Did it come out of nowhere like a scary movie, or are you prepared?
Well, life happens. If you are completely prepared to make oodles of money with your communications and marketing efforts this holiday season, you can stop reading this and go buy a latte or do something else.
Now, for the rest of us busy entrepreneurs who have a million things going on at once and seem to be reacting to many issues we can’t control (weather, customer requests, staff/family problems, etc.), I’ve got good news.
You can take a few steps right now that will make a difference by the end of the year… and the best part is… they won’t cost you anything but time and effort.
Are you ready?
1. Partner with a charity.
What can you do to help a local non-profit that is fun and unique? If your team members just help out with a fundraiser or other activity that the charity has planned, this can be a huge win.
Why?
You help others, build better relationships among your associates and meet new people. Also, while you’re doing all of this, the charity is mentioning your business or practice and introducing you to a new audience.
You get free positive recognition. Better yet, if you work with the charity on a holiday event, you can…
Call your local newspaper and television and radio stations and let them know about your upcoming charity event. This is interesting, positive local news that they’ll want to share.
If you have exciting activities planned with the opportunity for good photos and video coverage (think races, contests, awards, games for children and adults, bring your pet, etc.), media members may cover your event.
Then, you’ll receive free publicity with third party credibility you can’t get any other way. HUGE WIN!
Next…
3. Communicate!
Send an email and/or text to all of your current and pending customers AND to the list of everyone at the charity. Share information about the event and how they can help. You can even create an enticing holiday offer that accompanies your activities and has a specific deadline.
Post images, videos and fun messages on social media and communicate before, during and after the event takes place. Get the word out! You build positive buzz for your business or practice while helping a good cause.
Don’t let the fears of Halloween carry over into November! Instead, take steps now to make this a profitable season.
Find a non-profit that you can work with on a holiday event. Pitch your event to the media and share the news with your audience. You’ll boost positive awareness and sales in a unique way and gain access to an entirely new audience FOR FREE.
Best of all, you’ll share some holiday cheer in the process, and we can all use that right now. Happy Sales!
