Jane Fonda and Holistic Leadership

Whether you are in the fast-paced corporate world or building your dream business from the ground up, holistic leadership can give you the edge you need to succeed, according to Jane Fonda, actor and philanthropist.

She tells PINK that when women lead like women, they are more effective than when they pretend to be something they are not.

“It’s not about who is going to be the boss of whom, but how can we reach a consensus,” says Fonda. “What we bring to the executive table is what makes us different because we look at employees in a holistic, less competitive way. The more executives and leaders who have these characteristics, the better.”

Holistic leadership is composed of four components: Directing, Teaching, Nurturing and Participating.

Holistic leadership can result in greater clarity of purpose within the company, higher employee engagement and creativity and higher productivity.

A holistic leader knows there’s harmony to maintain in relationships, finances, community and spiritually. Know your values and who you are so you can inspire and motivate others.
