How to: Generate A Buzz in 5 Ways in 5 Days (Day 5)

The fall can be such a rewarding time of the year for retailers. There is the back to school shoppers ready to express their unique styles to a new group of friends. Parents are back to a routine schedule and once the month of September hits, consumers are usually paying attention to your marketing campaigns again, if there good ones of course.

In today’s saturated marketing of cyber space emails, text messages, social media posts, and mounds of junk mail, its hard to stand out and create buzz . But it is possible! For those of you with a brick and mortar retail storefront, here are five quick and easy tips to help you create buzz and increase your foot traffic.

The secret is simple. Create a WOW factor. Sounds easy but what if you aren’t creative or don’t wake up with millions of ideas a day like some of us? Well here are 5 easy tips to consider. Just think of the 5 senses.

DAY 5

Last but not least, TASTE is the easiest WOW factor there is to create.

Who doesn’t like visiting a store that has a nice beautiful welcome table; Fresh treats, cookies, or fruit? There are tons of ideas that span any budget. For those on a tight budget, try mints or the all white mints in a really tall vase or layer colors for the season. One really creative way to keep cost down and impress your clientele is to partner with a local café, bakery, grocery store, or Sam’s club and become collaborative partners. Every business is always looking to market and your store could help do that for their products. Most companies have a marketing rep that would love to donate treats for opportunities to leave business cards and help exchange the effort to grow each person’s business. There is nothing like mounds of fruit with a chocolate fountain, cupcakes, and fresh baked cookies from a local bakery on a special day each week or first weekend of the month. To add a nice compliment to your welcome table try adding a fresh floral arrangement from a local small business looking for exposure and be sure to send her referrals for her support. I have yet to taste a cookie better than Heidi’s! I’m not sure if clients came because they loved us or the cookies! Either way it was a win-win!
