Moving to Atlanta? Three Quick Pointers

Atlanta’s perpetual business boom is accompanied by an astounding population boom: it is now the 9th-largest metrozone in the nation, with some 5.8 million living in the area.

But if your work is taking you to Atlanta, come prepared. Here are three things you’ll want to think about ahead of time: Where to live, where to recreate, and where to go on a getaway.

1. Luxury Condos in Midtown Atlanta

Imagine yourself living in an Atlanta sky-rise condominium in the heart of downtown Atlanta, right by the Atlantic Station and a hop, a skip, and a jump from a host of prime Atlanta Area attractions. Got the picture? Now add in spacious, luxury level condo units, Art Deco glamorous style, a resort-like pool, a fitness center, a yoga studio, valet parking, and more.

Sounds too good to be true? Well, that’s what you get with luxury condos Atlanta, GA | The Atlantic – Midtown, Atlantic Station –  the tallest building in the Midtown. Nothing else in the city compares to it.

2. Sights to See

But your whole life in Atlanta will not consist simply of work and at-home pleasures. Sooner or later, you’ll want to get out and explore the city. Here are some ideas on what to do on your days off in Atlanta:

  • See the World of Coca Cola You will find it on 121 Baker Street, mere blocks away from the spot where Coca Cola’s secret formula was first concocted. You can learn of the history of your favorite soft drink, sample it in some 60 varieties, and watch a movie in 4-D where two mad scientists try to uncover Coca Cola’s secret.
  • Cross the street from the Coke museum. Just across Baker Street, you will find the Centennial Olympic Park, a great place for a stroll and a picnic; the Center for Civil and Human Rights, to add a little education to your day-trip; and the enormous Georgia Aquarium, where you can see over 100,000 marine animals.
  • Relax at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. With 30 acres of well manicured greenery, artistic water fountains, and historically important statues to explore, this is a great place to relax and refocus after a hectic work day.
  • Tour the CNN Center. Ever wonder how CNN news is produced? Take a tour of their Atlanta facilities to go “behind the scenes.” You’ll appreciate the news more than you ever did before after seeing how it’s “made.”
  • Pay your respects to Martin Luther King. You will find Martin Luther King’s childhood home, church, and gravesite in Atlanta at the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site.

3. A Getaway Not Too Far Away

Lake Lanier, only a 30-minute drive northeast from Atlanta, is a popular getaway spot for those who need a break from the urban sprawl and busy business environment. When the Chattahoochee and Chestatee Rivers were dammed up in 1956, Lake Lanier, still the biggest lake in all Georgia, was the result.

Millions visit Lake Lanier every year for its parks, campgrounds, prime hiking and nature viewing opportunities, picnic areas, playgrounds, swimming beach, boating excursions, and for a chance to stroll through the Don Carter State Park. Along its shores, you will find many restaurants, shops, and entertainment facilities, plus the historic downtowns of the shoreline cities of Gainesville and Buford.
