Need Free Publicity Fast?

Do you want to boost sales, credibility and awareness fast without spending money? Public relations is the way to go, and you can do it yourself.

Here are my top three suggestions for starting your publicity campaign now:

1. Pick up the phone. Once you find the reporters, editors and reporters you want to contact at targeted media venues, call them directly. Introduce yourself and give a quick pitch. Think about what they will care about and be brief. You may just land a feature story or quote! I’m not kidding. Give it a try. And if they are not interested, at least you’ve starting a working relationship, and they know your business exists.

2. Use Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Can potential customers find you on the Web? If not, you are losing out on a huge opportunity. By incorporating appropriate keywords into your online copy and adding description tags, search engines will be able to find your site and share it with people who want your products and services. SEO is not difficult, but it does take time and effort. To start, check the free tools available at KeywordDiscovery and WordTracker. Also, look at the various articles on this site and online such as this one. And if you just don’t have time to optimize your site, look into hiring a SEO copywriter to help you.

3. Post a SEO Press Release. Once you conduct your SEO keyword research, use these words in your press release. See here for help for help. Then, post your press release on free sites such as those I’ve listed here. You can also use a cost-effective service like www.prweb.com. When times are tough, don’t get discouraged! Instead, take action. Conduct a little more research to find people and services that fit your specific deadlines and budget. Soon, you’ll increase sales and be able to hire someone to do all this work for you!
