Happy 2024! It’s a new year, and that means we all get to enjoy a fresh start… with everything! Whether it’s your business or personal life, what does that mean to you?
Instead of creating New Year’s resolutions that never really seem to work out (only 9% of people stick to them all year long per driveresearch.com!), let’s look at the new year differently…
When it comes to things that are really important to us, friends and family usually top the list. With this in mind, keep what matters most in your thoughts when you need to make decisions throughout the year relative to your time, activities, favors, and more.
What does “rich” mean to you?
If it’s all about leading a happy life filled with positive experiences and being surrounded by those you love, focus on that first.
If you want to be rich from a monetary standpoint, get your finances in order. Look at your budget and spend and save accordingly.
And if you haven’t had much luck with this in the past, find a reputable accountant or financial expert to help you. It may cost time and effort now, but it can pay off big time in your efforts to be financially rich in the future!
Where do you spend your energy? Now is the time to think about how you spend your time.
How many hours a day are you in front of a phone, computer and television screen?
How much time do you spend exercising and being active?
How long do you spend doing activities you just don’t like?
Make a list to see what’s really going on, and then take action. Do you need a workout buddy to motivate you? Do you need to hire someone to clean your house, take care of your administrative tasks or run errands? With a little help, you’d be surprised at how much time you can save so that you can spend your life doing what you love!
Do you save for emergencies and a rainy day?
If not, it’s the perfect time to start! Make a goal to set aside a certain amount each month. You can even automate this with your bank so that funds are automatically transferred into a special savings account. It’s an easy step to take now. Then, if your car breaks down, you have a medical emergency or just need some extra funds, they’ll be waiting for you!
Are you happy with your life right now? It’s up to you to make positive changes happen.
If you’re in a rut, research and participate in new activities, give back via charitable organizations and find local events where you can meet new people and stretch your mind. There are also plenty of mindset books, churches and support groups available to help you through difficulties and move forward to a better place.
The new year is here, and that means we all get to enjoy a fresh start. If you want to make positive changes happen in your life and accomplish goals, stop and take a look at where you are and where you want to be. Figure out what’s important to you, where you spend your time and what activities and people you need to contact for help. With just a few changes, you’ll start 2024 off in a positive direction and have your best year yet!
