Surprises

Everyone I speak with seems to have learned a few lessons this year that they wish they’d known earlier. If you could advise yourself last year, what would you say?

Some thoughts I’ve heard:

1. Who knew a bank could cancel your line of credit just when you needed it?

2. I’m really not as “aggressive” an investor as I thought I was.

3. If I need the money in the next five years, I shouldn’t hold the money in stocks.

Any one learned or realized other ideas – about investing generally or about yourself as an investor?
