Are You a Thankful Entrepreneur?

Thanksgiving is Important for Entrepreneurs Throughout the Entire Year

We just celebrated Thanksgiving, a time to spend with family and friends relaxing and being grateful for what we have. But for entrepreneurs, Thanksgiving is something much more important. It’s a time to be thankful for how far you’ve come and all of the ups and downs involved in pursuing your business dreams in the past year. Plus, it gives you a valuable tool to use throughout the year.

What am I talking about?

Be Thankful Throughout the Year.

It takes a lot of hard work, risk, time, blood, sweat, and tears to become a successful entrepreneur, especially if you are pursuing a crazy dream without a lot of support. Because of this, it’s important to have some kind of tool you can use for motivation throughout the year. And that tool is to think about what you are thankful for on a regular basis.

With this in mind, try to this activity starting right away:

  1. Think of 10 things you are thankful for right now.

Your list can include anything. On the business side of things, you be thankful for having the courage to call a potential investor or simply being able to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. On the personal side, you can be thankful for friends, family members, good health, things you own, and more.

  1. Write down the 10 things.

If you are having a really bad day, it helps if you write down what you are thankful for and place the list next to your computer screen or on your refrigerator. This way, you’ll remember what’s really important when things get stressful.

  1. Contemplate your list.

Once you prepare your list, think about what is happening with your business and how this list relates to what you are doing right now. If you are thankful for what you have, use that to energize yourself to work harder. And if you are thankful for how far you’ve come, use that to motivate yourself to keep moving forward.

Stop Being So Hard on Yourself!

Being an entrepreneur is not easy. You have a lot of difficult decisions and hurdles to overcome. The last thing you need to do is feel sorry for yourself. Don’t let this negativity get in your way.

Instead, stop and think about the top, ten things you are thankful for at any particular moment. And if you can’t think of anything, just remember all of the people who are homeless, starving, fighting cancer, and more. Things can always be worse. And more than likely, you have a lot to be thankful for!
