The Mind is Like a Parachute…

It only works when it’s “open!”

Last week, I was working on a report for Competencia Magazine, when I realized that one of the most important contributions that we as communications professionals can do is help others get the news about creative ways to overcome the crisis.

So I ran to the office of one of the most talented creative thinkers and business advisors in Buenos Aires, and got from him some very interesting tips on how to become a “creative” thinker against the crisis:

• We should make an effort to identify with Crisis with Change, not tragedy.
• A good manager will benefit from the change.
• To adapt to change, people must change, and this often generates resistance and conflict. We should all learn to apply the techniques of win-win negotiation.
• In times of crisis, we must spend more time on interpersonal communication as it is the best antidote to stress and conflict.
• Teamwork is better than individual work in almost all tasks.
• No need to have been born with a special star to be creative, we all have the adaptability and possibility to develop creative ideas. We should look for opportunities where we never looked before and do things we never did before. Change of perspective.
