You have 30 minutes to get to an important client meeting – but, you have nothing to wear.

The issue isn’t really lack of clothing (because your blouses have a closet of their own). It’s the clutter.

According to a study by Sure Women Linen Dry, women spend more than $100,000 on clothes in their lifetime.

Yet, researchers say, about 60 percent of women struggle to put together outfits.

So, how do women on a time crunch avoid having “nothing” to wear?

Reorganize!

“If it’s season-appropriate and you haven’t worn it in the past six months, it’s time for that item to go,” says Julie Peterson, personal color and style consultant, House of Colour Pittsburgh.

Look at your clothing and organize by color.

“It allows you to see how much of one color you have. Remember, black is just one color out of many,” she adds.

Group like things together.

“If you put all of your black sweaters together, you’ll be amazed at how many you actually have,” suggests New York City-based organizational expert Barbara Reich.

A double decker clothing rack can be helpful here.

“Place pants on the top rack and jackets on bottom rack to save time by making it easier to identify them at a glance,” she says.

Sandy Dumont, image consultant, The Image Architect suggests getting rid of things that don’t fit or flatter your body.

“If it doesn’t fit, let it go,” she says.

This weekend’s task? Cut the clutter.
