Balancing Work And Study? Five Ways To Make It Easier

Going back to college or university is a great way to improve your career. It can give you the extra skills needed to work up the career ladder and can also improve your skillset for everyday life. However, there will be a point in your life when you can’t afford to give up your full-time job to go back to education. But that shouldn’t matter, though; many women choose to balance their studies alongside their day job. Sound like an impossible task? Not quite! Here are seven ways to make the balance easier.

Create A Weekly Plan
Buy a wall planner and write in when you are at work and when you have college classes or lectures. This way, you can then see how much free time you have. Be sure to plan in enough study time to your free time. After you have set some hours aside for homework, revisions, and assignments, you can then see how much time you have to enjoy your social life! Planning your week is the best way to stay organised and achieve a successful balance between work and studies.

Get Your Sleep
You will have a lot to squeeze into your days now that you are working and studying. But that doesn’t mean that you should limit your sleep. Getting enough sleep is very important as it can reduce your overall stress levels. Try to aim for around seven to eight hours of good-quality sleep each night. If you have a good schedule and routine, you should easily be able to find the time to sleep. However, if exams or deadlines are approaching, you might need to burn the midnight oil. But there is a way to do all your extra work without forfeiting your sleep. You know when you’re busy periods will be, so change your schedule accordingly. Of possible, see if you can reduce your hours at work for a month or two so you can focus on your academic life.

Let Your Lecturers And Employers Know
You should let your employer know that you are thinking about going back to college or university. They might even allow you to cut down on your hours so that you are able to concentrate on your studies. This will be especially the case if the studies are relevant to your work. Once you start your college or university course, be sure to let your lecturers and teachers know that you are also in employment. They might be able to be a bit more lenient with their deadlines if they know that you can’t spend as much time on the course as other students. However, don’t expect too many exceptions! They can’t favor you too much!

Enlist The Help Of Family And Friends
If you have a family, balancing work and study can be a tough ride. However, you don’t have to face it all on your own! Your partner will be there to help you out with the child care. And if your partner is every working late, you can always ask friends and other relatives to help you out. If you need to spend a day studying, see if someone is available to take your kids out for the day. That way you are guaranteed peace and quiet! If you don’t have any friends or family who have the time to help with the kids, don’t panic. Think about hiring a nanny who can look after them for a couple of days a week.

Get Extra Help
Sometimes, no matter how rigidly you plan your schedule, you may run out of time. However, all is not lost! There is a lot of extra help you can get. If you are super stressed, and there is no way you will meet a deadline, speak to your lecturers about it. If they can’t push back your deadline, order a quality essay from essaymasters. And if things get too much at work, don’t be afraid to put in some holiday days to enjoy time off. You’ve been working super hard; you sure do deserve a well-earned break! Not got any spare holiday days? Don’t despair. You could take some unpaid leave. Alternatively, you might be able to pay a co-worker to cover a shift for you.

Studying and working at the same time impossible? No way! You’ll find it’s very manageable to do! You will get stressed at times, but who hasn’t been stressed at one point or another in their life? At least this will be worth it!
