Content is one of the many things that a lot of businesses choose to outsource. You might have some writing skills yourself, but you don’t have the time to write your own content. Finding someone else to do it is the perfect solution. There are millions of writers out there who can fulfill your wishes, from technical articles to lifestyle blogs. The problem is, not all of those writers are as good as each other. If you find a great deal on content and place an order, how you do know you’re going to get quality work back. You might have seen some good samples, but perhaps you’ll readily admit you don’t know much about writing. If you want to check the quality of your order, make sure you do these vital things.
Fulfilling the Brief
Firstly, any content you order has to be written to the instructions you give and what the writer says they will deliver. That could involve a number of things, from the topic of the content to SEO. You need to make sure that the writer or service you used has given you what you both agreed upon. So the first thing you should do is take a look at the brief and tick off the requests you made and the promises they made. Does the topic fit the brief and does it stay on topic? Does it include the keywords you asked for and are they incorporated naturally into the text?
Check Spelling and Grammar
This might seem like a very simple step, but you might not be as on top of spelling and grammar as you think. You might think you have a good grasp of the English language. But there is a lot of poorly spelled and ungrammatical content out there, hosted by native speakers. Of course, your content should be delivered with impeccable spelling and grammar. Check Originality
When you upload new content, you want it to be entirely original. It shouldn’t have chunks of text that are similar to anything on your site or any others. If you want to ensure it’s completely original, you can use a plagiarism checker. They will pick up on any text that’s lifted from other sources. It won’t necessarily be that the content is exactly the same as another piece. There may be too much paraphrasing or quoting without citations. You can look for a checker that analyzes a number of factors to work out if the content is at risk of plagiarizing.
Fact Check
Don’t forget to fact check the content you receive. You might not do it for everything, but just have a look at the accuracy of one or two pieces. Is the writer making accurate claims, perhaps even backed up with links to evidence? This helps to protect your brand too, by making sure there are no false statements about you.
