Five Grooming Rules For Guys To Live By

Guys, unless you can pull off the rugged lumberjack look, you’ve got to take care of your appearance. Good grooming keeps you clean, respectable, and attractive. Well-kept hair, a neat beard, and good hygiene are top of your priorities, and we’re here to help. We all let things slide now and then, and that’s fine. A little outgrown stubble and a messy crop of hair is a good look. But, when it comes to scrubbing up, sometimes you need a little more effort.

  1. Regular barber visits

If you’ve got a short hairstyle, you should be hitting the barber around once a month. Those shaved back-and-sides grow out quickly, and you’ll lose that sharp, clean look. We all leave it too late, but try to avoid this by keeping a regular appointment. Stick to the same barbers too. That way, you’ll always get the style you want, without the worry. A guy’s haircut needn’t cost a fortune, and you’ll be in-and-out within half an hour.

  1. Know what products work for you

There are hundreds of products out there, whether it’s hair products, deodorants, or body washes. They’re all designed and tailored for certain hair and body types, so make sure you’re matching up. It’s especially important when it comes to hair products. If you’re struggling to get the style you want, it’s probably because the product isn’t quite right. Try searching on review sites like Review Parlor to compare various opinions and ratings. If you’re not sure, buy a few small products, and try them out.

  1. Keep the beard trim

The beard is well-and-truly here to stay. It’s not just for hipsters either; in fact, some guys are even investing in beard transplants. True story. If you’re sporting a thick forest of beard, make sure you tame the beast! Invest in a good razor with grooming extensions. That will help keep the length in check, and remove all those annoying straggly bits.

  1. Moisturize and skin care

Moisturizing is an essential part of male grooming. Unfortunately, lots of us tend to ignore it. Good skin care is essential to achieving an all-around healthy glow. By moisturizing every day, you’ll breathe new life into your skin. You’ll reduce those tired looking eyes, and give your complexion some colour. Again, there are lots of different products to choose from. Each are tailored to a certain skin type, so choose wisely. If you’re not sure where to start, use those review sites, or ask the experts in your local store.

  1. Find a signature scent

You might not know this, but different scents are suited to different personalities. Dark, woody smells are ideal for brooding, mysterious guys. They’re warm, but intriguing. Fresher, lighter scents work better for outgoing, lively guys. A signature scent helps reaffirm your personality. Just remember that aftershave should be subtle, so use it sparingly. If it stops people in their tracks, you’re wearing too much!
Taking pride in your hygiene and appearance is essential for all guys. Make sure you’re making an effort, and looking sharp every single day.
