Head For Numbers? Career Options That Will Suit Your Skills

Whether at school, college or university, knowing what career you want isn’t always an easy decision to make. For some lucky people, they just know what they have a passion for. They work hard and land the job of their dreams. Some people are not as fortunate, as head through education not sure what career will suit them. Sometimes you just need a few pointers to help you along the right path. Many people have a head for numbers. So I thought I would share with you some career options that would suit your skill set. I hope it inspires you.

Become a maths teacher. They say those who can, teach. So if you have a real flair for numbers then why not consider a career teaching that passion to others. Teaching can be a rewarding career. Molding young minds and helping those kids achieve what they want to. If you love numbers, then teaching the youth of today to love them to could be the dream job for you. Maths can be subject a lot of young children can struggle with, and schools are always crying out for decent teachers.

Consider accounting. Almost all companies out there need an accountant, or an accounting team. So jobs in this industry are not scarce. Some of the biggest corporations out there are accounting firms, making this industry big business for anyone who has a head for numbers. Getting accredited means taking exams and you can study a CPA accredited postgraduate diploma to advance on your skill set. However, once all your accreditation are in place there can be huge career opportunities in the accountancy industry.

Work for the bank. Working for the bank means you have a lot of different options to use your skills and passion. You could work as a face to face cashier, or behind the scenes in the office in a more analytical role. Some people progress on to become bank managers, and even take things further to work specifically on investment portfolios.

Dealing on the stock market. A head for numbers will be important if you fancy yourself as a stockbroker. That, and a passion for money and making those big deals. An air of confidence could also work in your favor. You also need to have a good understanding of economics and financial markets. These things can give you a huge advantage. This is because you are in effect making decisions for investment with other people’s money.

Analyzing as an auditor. Auditing may not be the most thrilling job in the world. But companies need people like you to work through their records and make sure things are above board and up to date. You make sure that correct tax amounts are being paid. Having a head for numbers can be an essential skill when it comes to auditing. You need to be able to think on your feet and workout what correct amounts are. Often you don’t have much time with the records to make sure all is as it should be.
