You have a pretty good idea of what makes for office- appropriate attire.
But if you ask us, some rules are made to be broken.
So how can you turn a typical office “don’t” into a “do?”
Sky-high heels are generally frowned upon in conservative work environments. But for women who feel more confident with a little lift, you can opt for higher heels with no platform.
If you swear by the extra height, platforms in a matte color work better than shiny patent-leather styles.
Before banishing that sheer top to the back of your closet, consider layering it with a dark camisole underneath that isn’t too low-cut. You can also opt for sheer tops with ruffles or embellishments that make them less see-through.
Love bright jewelry, but don’t want to be distracting? Just one colorful accessory paired with a simple, neutral ensemble rarely ends up looking over the top. However, experts caution against necklaces and bracelets that jangle noisily.
Think rain boots are too casual for the workplace? This chic Loeffler Randall pair in subtle black with a slight wedge heel are just the opposite. Want to rock denim outside of Casual Friday? Try tucking a chambray button-down into a black pencil skirt or slacks.
