When you’re always traveling for work, there’s plenty of hopping from plane to taxi to hotel to meeting – usually in unfamiliar cities.
Luckily, there are some phone apps made just for jet-setters to make your business journey a little easier.
Travel apps can “help you decide what to pack, what to do when you have free time and save you money,” says Marybeth Bond, a National Geographic writer and founder of the Gutsy Traveler blog.
Check out some of Little PINK Book’s favorite travel apps:
TripIt: This app links to your email account, finds all confirmation numbers (flight, hotel, dinner reservations) and combines the details into one neat itinerary.
iHandy Flashlight: Not only will it “help read menus in dark restaurants or maps in poorly-lit areas,” says Bond, but it also doubles as a safety device.
Call A Taxi: You find yourself in a new area without a car. No worries – “this app will connect you to the closest taxi station.”
Weatherbug: Dressing for success is easier if you know the forecast. A favorite of Bond’s, Weatherbug offers live webcam views of the weather and features detailed forecasts, radar, news and severe weather alerts.
AroundMe: This app tracks down everything from gas stations to grocery stores, showing the closest option around your area or hotel.
PCMag and AOL Travel list more travel apps compatible with iPhones, iPads, BlackBerrys and Androids.
