It might seem taboo, but we’ve all held onto undergarments that were a little worse for the wear. A painful underwire here, a cup size too small or too big – many women opt to pay more attention to their clothes than their undergarments. So, why should you start raising the bar when it comes to what’s under that power suit?
More than 70 percent of professional women are wearing the wrong-size bra. And wearing undergarments that are in good shape and fit have an impact on your comfort level.
Susan Nethero started her lingerie company Intimacy after years of struggling to find undergarments with the perfect fit. Now considered the “life-changing” bra fit expert, she’s opened more than a dozen stores across the country and regularly appears on network shows, including Oprah. (If you’d rather fit yourself, all you need is soft measuring tape and a pen and pad.)
Want to ensure your undergarments last as long as possible? Try hand washing items and letting them hang to dry. You can also invest in products like the Berry Ball & Bag to keep bra cups intact while they’re washed.
Underwear made of material like laser-cut microfiber with silicone will stay put. Here are some comfy undies that are great under work pants: Soma Vanishing Edge lave Hipsters and Jezebel Provocateur Boy Shorts.
