Drive: it’s what keeps you going as a business owner, especially when bills are piling up and you’re spending more time with employees than family.
It’s what keeps nonprofit Found Animals Executive Director Aimee Gilbreath fired up about making a difference at work everyday.
“Drive is vital because sometimes it’s all you’ve got,” Gilbreath tells PINK. “When you’re out to make big things happen, there are going to be obstacles.”
Gilbreath says drive is all about being connected to that ultimate goal or bigger picture that calls you. How does she use drive to get through tough times?
“I take a step back, give myself an attitude adjustment and get reconnected with my drive to help people and pets. That allows me to look past my own emotions and focus on how to get through the tough spots and make things work.”
Experts say managers and leaders can use drive to inspire employees to achieve success by expressing why their work has meaning.
Not sure if you’re driven enough at work? Here are nine ways to find out, like if you’ve voluntarily worked overtime or gone beyond your comfort zone.
