Goodbye Stress. Hello Holiday Cheer.

Relax This Holiday Season…

Let’s face it. Things can get pretty hectic in December. You have year-end deadlines at the office, various events to attend, cooking, baking, cleaning, wrapping, shopping… the list goes on. Before you know it, the calendar reads, “January,” and your holiday season was just a stressful whirlwind of “getting things done.”

Don’t let this happen!

Instead, take a moment now to focus on what’s really important to you this month, so you can actually RELAX:

Share work with others so you have more time for the holiday season!R – Remove unnecessary work.

Do you really need to be doing everything on your “To Do” list right now? Take a look at all of your tasks and figure out who can help you. By delegating various projects to freelancers, interns, family members, and others, you can focus on top priorities and give yourself some breathing room.

E: Enjoy the season.

Make it a point to get out of the office and enjoy everything going on around you. Notice the holiday decorations and lights, smell the delightful aromas coming from a wood burning fire or cookies baking in the oven, make a snowman with fresh fallen snow, listen to the laughter of children as they discover holiday surprises for the first time. You’ll find joy if you look for it… and it doesn’t need to cost anything!

L: Look at the positive things.

I get it. Maybe you had a really awful year. Maybe you lost people that you love and the holidays are extremely challenging and lonely. That’s o.k. Use this time for some self care and focus on the positive things around you and in your life.

Make a list of everything you are grateful for right now and review it frequently. Thankfulness can block out negativity and help you feel better.

A: Act!

If you aren’t feeling the holiday spirit, it’s a good time

to help others. Clean out your closet and garage and donate your unused items to a charity. Shop for children’s toys and take them to a local orphanage or non-profit. Volunteer at your local senior center, pet shelter, church, or somewhere else.

There are many people who are in a really bad state this time of year, and you can help them out. It will take your mind off of your problems and help you feel some holiday joy!

XO – Share A Smile!

No, you don’t need to wait under the mistletoe to distribute kisses. Instead, think about everything you are  grateful for and smile. Greet people with a positive, cheerful disposition wherever you go. Your one kind gesture or greeting may just change someone’s day for the better. And it will help you feel happier, too.

Holiday Cheer Helps Remove Stress!

Yes, this time of year can be crazy, but don’t let the stress get to you. Instead, delegate tasks you don’t need to be doing to others, get out of the office, volunteer, and take in the holiday spirit. Count your blessings and be thankful for everything that you have. This way, you’ll reduce your stress, help others, and enjoy the holiday season before it’s gone. Are you ready to spread some holiday cheer and make some wonderful memories this month?

Happy Holidays!
