Redesign Your Worklife By Redesigning Your Workspace

Do you find that you are in charge of an organisation that may need a little shake-up? Or is the place actually falling apart, literally or metaphorically? It might be time to look at your workplace. How do the staff feel? Is the office in need of some reorganization? Sometimes a row of desks won’t be conducive to a good working atmosphere. Increasing morale in the work environment is something that needs to be addressed if you want your staff to be more productive. Here are some approaches that you can take to improve the work environment, and also give the office some style!

Create More Open Spaces
The popularity of open-plan offices over the last few years shows what the potential can be for creating an open space. It contributes to increased communication with colleagues. People are able to see each other a lot better and removing the cubicles or partitions is one idea for any office setup. It will reduce people popping their heads up over their cubicle and reduce isolation.

Redesign Your Workspace By Redecorating
You could add some color to the office to improve its appearance. Instead of painting harsh colors like red, add soothing neutral colors like green or blue. This will help to create a more relaxed working environment. As well as this, add more opportunity for light to come in. It will do a lot more for worker’s morale over the artificial panels of light which makes an office look unnatural and dull. Take a leaf out of contemporary startup companies and have pictures, paintings by new artists or even sculptures in the workspace. Doing this can change the feel of a company and take away the “work” vibe. You can look at a 3D model library company to give you an idea of what potential your office space can have.

Give The Staff Access To Activities
A lot of the bigger companies have taken to having games such as pool or air hockey available. You may read this with a raised eyebrow. But actually having access to games increases productivity in employees. It can help to reduce fatigue or burnout purely because the workers are taking their mind off work-related tasks and having some fun!

Create A Space Dedicated To Relaxation
If you have a space that is for for people to go and relax, this is important for overall well-being. Having somewhere that staff can go to calm down in an area that doesn’t have many charts or work slogans dotted around will help to create a calm mindset. For example, if someone is feeling a bit overwhelmed or stressed out from a long training session, they can go to the space for a short amount of time to collect their thoughts and return to work. You can decorate a space like this by putting relaxing chairs down or beanbags on the floor. You could also have a music system playing different genres of music to suit everyone’s needs.

Install Some Standing Desks
This is another thing that is popular with the higher-end offices. Companies are opting to install standing desks for two reasons. The first is that they take up less space. And the second is that with the amount of news going around that sitting is now bad for us, this will encourage a less sedentary lifestyle and will increase staff productivity. You may want to get people up on their feet from now on!

Introduce Health Foods
A common trend in offices is to have cakes and sweet snacks. People will go for the quick sugar fix when they are feeling tired. The problem with this is that there will be a dip in energy shortly after the sugar rush. So, if you replace the soda with water and introduce nuts and seeds or fruit, this will help reduce the mid-afternoon energy slump in workers.

Upgrade Your Hardware To A Cloud Storage System
This is a very common practice now. There are many different benefits, from helping reduce the carbon footprint to being able to store a lot more data. The great thing for business is that the costs are reduced when switching over to the Cloud because you do not need to keep updating your software regularly. The Cloud will upgrade whenever a new update is available.

Upgrade The Internet
If you increase your internet connection to go faster this will be a sensible option from the point of view of the cost and of the business. It is a common workplace complaint that the internet is not fast enough for everyone to do their work properly. So in doing this will be very cost-effective.
