I am days away from finishing an amazing journey of connecting with women internationally. The beauty of social networking is that you can connect with women all over the world. I have met some fabulous women in 2008 and built some great and lasting connections to carry into 2009. I have discovered that no matter what city or country these women live in there is a common thread – womanhood. I have also been reminded that womanhood transcends race, culture, age, geographic location, religion and all the other characteristics that define us as women. In addition to my virtual connections I have personally met women who are passionate about life and who fearlessly are creating their destiny.

In the past year there are a few lessons (affirmations to what I already knew) I learned along the way about womanhood transcending race, culture, age etc…

• Women are the creator’s of life and give at a deep level to other women

• Women are eager to connect with other like-minded women on their journey to a vibrant destiny

• Women are more likely to look beyond race/ethnicity to see and embrace the soul’s of other women

• When women commit to connecting the connection can be lasting and rewarding

Ultimately the essence of what I have learned in the past year is that when we as women seek to connect with other women (personally or professionally) and bring to the connection an authentic self we can connect more easily. So often we hide behind many masks or allow our outer characteristics to define who we are. It is when we show up as our “true” selves without titles or credentials that we can connect at a deeper level. It is when we look through the windows of another’s soul (their eyes) that we see the real beauty in others. It is when we truly accept and realize that when stripped to our core, we as women are all the same. It is when we are open and interested in one’s race/ethnicity that we are able to experience the delight in diversity.

I am 100% sure that 2009 is the pivotal year of the woman! The year we break ground, shatter glass ceilings and walls, create the change we want to see in the world and transcend our differences to elevate to our highest selves. This is the year for diversifying your inner circle. I challenge you to open up the gates and welcome in a woman who is different than you in many ways. Seek out women who don’t look like you. Welcome women who are more accomplished than you. Invite women into your circle who are true examples of vibrancy (pulsating with colorful energy) and glean from their shine. It’s time to transcend all differences and create synergy between women! This is the year to create YOUR vibrant life and there are women out there ready and willing to help you shine.

My life has been tremendously blessed because I was able to step out of my comfort zone and welcome other women into my inner circle. I am confident you will be as rewarded as I am. Womanhood truly does transcend all… diversity and inclusivity is a humanly beautiful thing.
