DRESSING IN UNCERTAIN WEATHER
What do you buy to wear when the weather changes every other day? Is it winter or spring this Thursday?
Buy clothes that are season-less. Clothes with natural fibers and lose weaves can be layered and are usually very comfortable. It’s important that the pieces can be layered and easily removed as the day heats up. I love dressing in layers and it can give you an updated look, while keeping you weather appropriate. Keep your look limited to two colors and anchor it with black, brown or grey.
Scarves are also great for layering. Many companies have started offering variations in contents such as silk with cashmere, modal with cashmere and rayon with linen. These blends are breathable and easy to wear. They can be tied loosely around the neck to create a draped cowl effect when it’s a bit warmer or can be tied a little bit more firmly to create warmth around the neck.
Buy items that are button front and not pullover for your outer layers. Many of my customers love having a button-front garment as opposed to a pull-over style. It’s easy to get in and out of. When darting around the city you can pull off a cardigan or light jacket very easily. When you have to deal with pulling something over your head it can get tricky.
Keep looking your best regardless of the unchanging weather. Use this as an opportunity to layer and experiment.
