Figure-Flattering Work Wear

Warmer months mean we can finally ditch long sweaters and break out shorter lengths in breathable fabrics. But what’s comfortable for one body type may not be for another. PINK handpicked spring and summer essentials to flatter your best features at work – no matter what your body type.

“We’re in an era where working women have choices when it comes to how they look at work,“ Lauren Sherman, editor of hit fashion blog Fashionista, tells PINK. “There are so many contemporary designs at affordable price points that keep you looking fashionable and are great for work.”

If you’re the curvy type, try a skinny belt to flatter your waistline. It goes with everything from wide or straight leg jeans to pencil skirts. For a structured look that isn’t boxy, you can pair a wide belt with a shift dress.

A ruffled blouse or wrap dress can add more shape to a boyish body type. The ruffled hem and v-neck will define and balance your figure.

For slender hips, a unique statement necklace draws attention to the neckline. Then simply add a plain shirtdress and black pumps.

Those with broader shoulders can wear a full skirt to the office without looking overdressed. Vintage-cut skirts create volume to balance you out. Top off the look with a lightweight dress shirt – then roll sleeves to a ¾ length to beat the heat.
