3 Free P's to PR Success

If you are worried about the economy and want to save money while increasing sales and awareness, remember these three, free “Ps” to PR Success:

1. Pick up the phone.

Once you know who you want to target and have a unique story angle for reporters, simply call them and pitch your idea. Be succinct and interesting. Give the main points right away without being annoying. And if you call at the right time, with the right pitch, you may just get media coverage worth thousands in advertising dollars.

2. Present.

Get out and speak in front of your target audience. Most organizations are looking for presentations from experienced individuals in the local community. Find a good group where potential customers, partners, sponsors, etc. will be. Offer to provide valuable information at no cost, but get permission to offer handouts and your website address after your presentation. By networking, you can build positive word-of-mouth quickly and meet others who can help grow your business.

3. Partner.

Conduct some research and find larger businesses or charities you can work with on referrals, joint products/services, events, and more. By partnering, you can reach a larger audience and build credibility faster. Plus, you’ll cut time and resources in half. These are just three main publicity activities you can do to increase sales and awareness without spending money. Be creative and think of ways you can reach out to targeted reporters and partners to reach customers. Usually, these efforts take extra time and effort, but the results are well worth it!
