It is possible to find a job you love.
Ensler, who recently released her new book, In the Body of the World, tells PINK working women need to focus on transformation rather than mere business transactions.
“It’s about listening to where you want to serve, what will feed your soul,” says Ensler.
Happiness at work differs for each individual.
Sometimes, it’s where you least expect it.
Ensler remembers her early career: “I was a waitress for 9 years. But I felt I was making people happy when they were dinging out.”
So what’s the key?
Find a job where “you can serve your heart and soul and be connected [with others].”
She tells PINK that focusing on a job or career is too limiting and doesn’t bring happiness.
“It’s too much about the individual in this lonely isolated way, trying to get to the top in business while others work in oppressive conditions.”
Instead, she encourages women to focus on helping others rather than getting to the top and making more money.
