How to Rock Red at the Office
Every minute of every day, heart disease takes the life of one woman.
An estimated 43 million women suffer from heart disease. The number one killer of women, it is more deadly than all forms of cancer combined.
While 1 in 31 American women dies from breast cancer each year, 1 in 3 dies from heart disease.
Women across the country are wearing red today in support of Go Red for Women’s National Wear Red Day, an American Heart Association campaign.
Here at Little PINK Book, we think PINK is the best statement color, of course, but for causes like women’s heart health, we don’t mind switching it up for the day!
Like any bold fashion statement, pulling off red in the office can be tricky.
If you work in a more formal office where neutral suits are the norm and pushing the limit with fashion trends is out of the ordinary, you might be wary of incorporating red.
Ashley Oerman, an editor at TheBlush.com, says, “Since red is a bold color, a great way to wear it is in your accessories.”
She suggests working in pops of red to an otherwise neutral colored outfit – red bangle bracelets, a belt or even red pumps.
In offices where bold styles and color are more acceptable, however, a bigger red statement could be the way to go according to Oerman.
“If red is a flattering color on you, pop on a red blazer or dress,” she said.
Either way, it’s the perfect way to make a statement and show your support for women’s heart health.
