Catwalk to Water Cooler
Think runway trends don’t translate to the sidewalk – let alone the workplace? Think again.
PINK handpicked five of our favorite runway looks for fall and found office-ready equivalents to make these styles work at work.
One of this season’s big trends is the return of the pleated skirt. No longer limited to schoolgirls, it can look chic and professional. Try this knee-length navy version with a tailored blazer.
A skirt in winter means tights. Instead of opting for traditional black, why not step out in a grey pair? It’s a little unexpected, but neutral enough for the office. We
like these from New York & Company.
Tuxedos: no longer just for men and penguins! Bill Blass features a tailored tuxedo jacket that can be worn just like other suit jackets. Here’s one from Neiman Marcus that’s fashion forward without being outlandish.
Carolina Herrera embraces one of this season’s favorite colors: orange. Depending on your company culture, bright hues may be best kept to a minimum. But cold temperatures outside are a great excuse to don a scarf with a pop of this pumpkin color.
Wedge boots were all over the fall runways. Opt for faux leather or suede, and keep it simple by avoiding pairs that are too slouchy or have lots of detailing.
