Women in Law Week: Corporate and Chic?

A recent survey found that nearly half of all employers promote workers who dress professionally, especially in fields such as law and finance. But the same white blouse/ dress pants/ blazer combo every day gets old fast. Finding work clothes for the corporate environment that are comfortable, professional and not too stuffy can be tricky.

One fashionista suggests paying attention to what other highly successful women wear. Kat Griffin, New York litigator and founder of Corporette, a fashion blog for women in Corporate America, features key pieces that work at work, minus the hefty price tag.

“The one mistake I’ve made is wearing something new to the office and realizing mid-morning that it shows way too much cleavage or too much leg,” she tells PINK. “Women should keep a tank top, cardigan and a pair of dark tights handy at the office in case

a wardrobe adjustment needs to be made.”

Suits don’t have to make you feel 10 years older. Companies like Tahari and Nine West offer chic and put-together options that won’t break the bank.
