Working Women Fasten their Belts

Fashion-forward ladies are sporting waist belts this fall.

For this season, opt for dark leathers or animal skins because of the luxurious look they give.

Not sure how to match a waist belt to your body type, to look great at work?

Annie Ladino, chief stylist for Shop It To Me, shares her secrets to buckling up, whatever your proportions may be.

Ladino says it’s easy to find what’s most flattering, once you figure out your body type.

If you have an hourglass figure, avoid wearing belts around your hips. Instead go for a wide belt .

Have a long torso? Opt for skinny belts that match your top.

Wide, tonal colored belts worn at the natural waistline suits pear shaped bodies well. To create the illusion of a curvier figure, straight or rectangle-shaped women should experiment with contrast-colored skinny belts. Dark, solid belts that stretch should be worn by women who have a full waist.

Thicker belts that contrast with the color of your shirt will compliment women with longer waists.

Short-waisted women ought to avoid overly thick belts. But do try colors that are similar to your outfit.

Do you have a belt you’re dying to wear but aren’t sure if it suits your figure? Position the belt either above or below the natural waistline to achieve your desired silhouette.
