5 Things Every Working Woman Must Have in Her Closet
You know the saying is true: “when you look good, you feel good.” And, when a woman is confident about the way she looks, she’s more powerful at work.
Gregg Andrews, fashion creative director at Nordstrom, gives PINK the five must-haves for the ultimate career woman – haute and professional.
Tailored white shirt.
This chic year-round essential is appropriate in nearly any work environment. According to Andrews, “This wardrobe workhorse can be paired with pants, skirts or dark denim jeans and layered under a jacket or sweater.”
Polished and versatile – the pencil skirt is timeless.
Short black jacket.
It’s easily layered over dresses and can elevate casual pieces like jeans or a leather skirt to a work appropriate level. “Shorter lengths appear more updated than a traditional menswear shape and is flattering to most figures.”
Neutral colored pencil skirt.
Polished and versatile – the pencil skirt is timeless. “Longer lengths can be hemmed to hit at the most flattering place on a woman’s leg and are always chic with anything from a crisp blouse to a slim fit knit sweater or sleek leather jacket.”
Neutral lightweight leather jacket.
Less biker-ish than black, a light neutral color can be worn year round for work or casually. “This modern third piece adds polish and unexpected sophistication to skirts, pants and dresses.”
Nude pumps.
“The go-with-everything color elongates the leg and can be worn year round with anything, including denim,” says Andrews. And, it’s a perfect choice for business travel.
When we look amazing, we feel amazing. And, presentations always seem to go better on those days.
